About me
Jennifer Ozgur has been teaching secondary English Language Arts for the Pennsylvania public school system since 2000. She received her BSED at West Chester University and her Masters in Educational Leadership from Gwynedd Mercy University.
In the 2016-17 school year, she published a children' s book and took a sabbatical to acquire a variety of certifications. She is a trauma-responsive, brain-based, and culturally-relevant professional development designer and trainer through Baltimore’s The Children’s Guild. Jennifer became an Appreciative Inquiry practitioner while on the Case Western Reserve University campus.
Since the pandemic, she has partnered with many research-based institutions that address issues of equity and resilience, and designs both in-person and engaging “behind the screens” professional development. Jennifer also piloted and taught courses in Appreciative Inquiry as a framework for curious leadership in education for Neumann University.
She is currently writing a book on the adaptation and application of Appreciative Inquiry in the K-12 space to create a culture of collaborative leadership and build positive relationships in the school system.
Some of Jennifer’s partnerships include: the School District of Philadelphia; Maryland's Court-Appointed Special Advocates; Baltimore's National At Risk Education Network, Phi Delta Kappa Educators Rising; The University of Pennsylvania's Delaware Valley Consortium for Equity and Excellence Summer Institute; Yale University's Chapter of Mental Health Technology Transfer Center, the Arizona Bureau of Indian Education; the Coalition of Oregon School Administrators;the Southern Oregon Education Service District; the Columbia County Justice Department, the National Association for Secondary School Principals, and the governors of New Hampshire and Pennsylvania resilience initiatives.
In addition to being an educational and organizational consultant, Jennifer also maintained a magazine column for many years, a professional blog, and has been known to perform her own poetry and will sing a jazz standard or two upon request.
