About me
Teachers of Color Matter (TOCM), an independent educational consulting company, advocates and supports equity and justice for Teachers of Color and other historically marginalized teachers working within public education. We operate from the perspective that K-12 schools are “white spaces” and support white supremacy norms and values. As such, teacher education and the teaching profession have not been structured to support the needs and experiences of Teachers of Color. Teaches of Color Matter achieves our mission by supporting Teacher of Color through recruitment and retention efforts, wellness retreats, and mental health tools.
