Deeper Learning 2025

How are young people experiencing what’s currently happening in the world around them? What news stories of the past few months have most impacted them, and what has that impact been? What changes, if any, have they experienced in the ways they feel about their communities, the world, and the future? What types of support, guidance, and learning environments do young people hope their schools might offer, as they navigate our complex era?

In this session, adults will converse in small groups with students, who will share their perspectives and feelings about the social and political moment in which we find ourselves. These small group conversations will be followed by a full-group debrief, in which we will consider how schools and educators might respond to our era in service of young people’s most
pressing needs.
