Participants will dive into the concept of microschools—small, agile learning communities within a school that test and refine new approaches to learner-centered education before scaling them school-wide. Through hands-on engagement, participants will identify their school’s core “superpower” and collaborate to design a microschool with a unique brand, focus, and identity to launch with student leaders. This session invokes “creative non-compliance”—a mindset of trusted experimentation that fosters deeper learning. Participants will reflect on how to create spaces where students and teachers feel empowered to try new ideas without fear of failure. They will leave with concrete next steps to develop microschool prototypes that inspire curiosity, collaboration, and innovation.
