Discover the potential of large-scale interdisciplinary PBL in a traditional school and dive deeply into its outcomes on the development of essential skills. Participants will deconstruct the 4-year journey of our school’s PBL as it moved from a zombie war to hands-on service learning in the Amazon Rainforest, including an exploration of the ways students took ownership of this project and created prototype solutions to real-world problems. This process will result in the distillation of specific steps used to create interdisciplinary, student-led PBLs complete with accompanying resources. Participants will then get a hands-on opportunity to engage in the guided creation of their own visions, drafting the preliminary steps which they will share and receive feedback upon in small groups.
