In this session we will explore how real-world problems in your school or community can provide powerful contexts for inspiring projects that motivate students (and teachers!). Using the backdrop of a New York State orchard, we will collaborate to develop new problem-based projects in your home communities and schools.
You will leave this session with:
- A framework for using problem-based PBL in your school
- A plan for your own anchor-project (to use as project exemplar with your students)
- Techniques for planning and navigating open-ended project situations
- An appreciation for the motivating power of authentic problem-based projects
This session is for anyone wanting to develop new projects or deepen their PBL practice. All are welcome, although prior experience creating and teaching projects will amplify your experience.
Lunch is included in each deep dive.
