Biases shape our everyday decisions, often leading us to rely on the familiar "one right way" for lessons or meetings, simply because "that’s how it’s always been done." This can hinder our ability to foster deeper collaboration, integrate diverse perspectives, and spark creative problem-solving. But where do these biases originate, and how do we uncover them? We’ll unpack white supremacy culture characteristics alongside regenerative and liberatory qualities, to challenge our mindsets and reshape our approach to teaching and learning by creating a self-directed learning path that challenges biased practices. Through readings, group discussions, and collaborative hands-on activities, participants will develop personalized tools to challenge biases and work toward creating more equitable, learner-centered environments.
