Deeper Learning 2025

How can place-based education serve student learning? Place-based learning turns communities and ecosystems into classrooms, dissolving the separation between school and life and thus providing more authentic learning. But how do “spaces,” which are measurable and objective, become “places,” which are imbued with experiences, memories, and feelings?   In this Deep Dive, you will hold the question, “How might I transform space into place?” - one in person and one virtual. We will harvest lessons learned from our personal journeys through these spaces to design approaches relevant to student learning.
