Participants will engage in rhythmic mindfulness practices and learn strategies for creating a safe, playful space for themselves and their students. Participants will experience an interactive example of a Cypherstyle™ classroom flow which includes practical strategies for student engagement rooted in Hip Hop and the communal and inclusive nature of the cypher (group work). Participants will also experience a Write of Passage, during which they will compose lyrics and experience the songwriting process, from the beat to the hook to the verse to the mic. They will name their pain and reclaim their power through a rhythm-based reflection on how creativity has unlocked their own growth personally and professionally, and how they might harness that same energy in a variety of transferable ways for their students.
